Understand the situation
Identify who provides the people and equipment for unloading. The answer depends on the arrangement made for your shipment. Ask whether the truck waits while the goods are removed, whether the container is dropped off, or whether specialist lifting is required.
Plan the handoff
Describe the cargo packaging and the site’s available equipment to the responsible operator. Pallets, loose cartons and heavy machinery can require different handling plans. Do not ask a driver to improvise lifting or use equipment that has not been agreed as suitable.
Confirm the next step
Agree an expected unloading duration and what happens if the site is not ready. Clarify waiting charges in the quotation and coordinate the next step for the empty container. Keep the receiver and transport team informed if unloading is taking longer than planned.
