Understand the situation
A 20-foot container and a 40-foot container require the coordinator to plan suitable equipment and space. A High Cube is a distinct height specification, while a refrigerated container adds operating requirements. Give the exact type shown in your shipping documents rather than saying only “a large container”.
Plan the handoff
Do not infer loaded weight from length. A smaller container can carry dense cargo. Provide the documented weight and ask the carrier to confirm suitable equipment and any route constraints. Exact dimensions and limits should come from the container specification and responsible operator.
Confirm the next step
At the warehouse, check gate clearance, turning space and unloading method for the vehicle being dispatched. If your shipment is already packed, the task is to transport that container correctly, not to choose a different size after arrival.
Before you book
- Confirm standard, High Cube or refrigerated type
- Provide the actual loaded weight
- Check access with the planned vehicle
- Agree lifting or unloading equipment
